A dilation enlarges or shrinks a figure proportionally, so it maintains it shape, but not (necessarily) its size. We look at the mathematical definition of a dilation, which involves a center point of the dilation and a scale factor. Then I also "play around" with a triangle, showing how the center point of the dilation affects the dilation process.
