Multiplication on a Number Line (2nd/3rd grade math)

Learn how we can illustrate multiplication by "jumps" on a number line. Giganto and Mathy, the mammoth mascots, do some jumping since they are so excited about it.

Jumping on the number line is of course the same concept as skip-counting. :)

We also look at "backwards multiplication" questions like ___ x 3 = 21, or how many jumps of three take you to 21? (In math we call these missing factor problems... essentially, they prepare the child for the concept of division.
