Hi again! And welcome to a new year, 2021! I realize last year was a difficult one for most everyone, and I don't know what this one will bring. I can't say I know for sure all will go back to normal or any such thing. But difficulties bring resilience, and people adapt.
And I am still here to help you teach math to your children... as long as the Lord allows me to live and wants me to continue in this business.

1. Math Mammoth newsI will be running a SALE near the middle of the month, so stay tuned! Here's another Mathy lover! Thank you for a wonderful math program. I have one child in 4A and another (in photo) is in 2A. We have been using MM since first grade. My girls struggle with school due to dyslexia. Your videos are a big help for us, and they enjoy watching.I love how she clutches the mammoth mascot (MATHY) in the photo! 😊 Many kids love having a soft animal to accompany their math lessons! |
2. 2021 Year GameThe new year has started, and the traditional 2021 Year Game is here!→ Use the digits 2, 0, 2, and 1 and math operations to make the counting numbers from 1 to 100. 🙂 You need to use every one of those digits. So, for example 2 + 2 is not allowed, but (2 + 0 + 2) x 1 is. Math Forum lists the exact rules... you are allowed to use, not only the four basic operations, but also the square root function, factorial, and double factorial. You CAN use exponents, such as making five with 22 + 0 + 1. Multi-digit numbers, such as 20 and 12 are allowed, as is the decimal .2. CodeLover (my son) really likes this game, and has made 66 out of the 100 numbers thus far. I've helped him with a few but most he's done himself. 🙂 You can submit your solutions at Math Forum: http://www.mathforum.org/yeargames/ Have fun! |
3. The end of FlashMath Mammoth curriculum contains a lot of Internet links in the chapter introductions. These links are also present in the lesson plans where they are assigned to particular days in the plan.Since December 31, 2020, Adobe Flash is officially not supported anymore, and already does not work in most browsers. Thankfully, most of those Internet activites don't use Flash. And, some of the sites that have lots of Flash content are slowly changing those over to HTML5. There are still some links in our link lists that use Flash — BUT there are also still a few browsers that will keep supporting Flash. It is up to you if you want to use these browsers listed below to be able to go to those links. Flash-based activities in those link lists are not that many anymore so it's not in any way essential.
